SAN BRUNO

Lunardi's, former Safeway, Skycrest Center
This store was built sometime in the 1960s, but has been Lunardi's for some time.  A remodel is planned for the store which will place a new facade to replace the current marina shape, with the first stage of the remodel (the demolition of the rest of the shopping center) now complete.

Sign in parking lot notes that the store is open "during remodeling."  Much of the (demolished) rest of the shopping center has been cordoned off with a new fence, leaving the supermarket by itself.

(Update, 12/22/07 - photo taken 11/16/07)
Due to the sale of Northern California Albertsons locations to Save Mart, this has reverted back to the Lucky brand (which it was prior to the 1999 Lucky/Albertsons merger).

Closed as a Lucky in the 1980s when they took over the San Bruno Town Centre site; this had operated since the 1940s and neighbored a one-time Safeway for years (now a car dealership).
